The Water Challenege

Hi Friends!

Recently, you may have seen me mention the water challenge in my Instagram and Facebook stories. We were on a mission to make sure we increased our water intake! Thanks so much to everyone who participated.

Now what is the water challenege?

The water challenge is simple, just a accountability group to make sure you are filling up your water bottle.

Why is the proper amount of water so important? According to Harvard Health the reasons are as follows: Water helps with:

  • Carrying nutrients and oxygen to your cells
  • flushing bacteria from your bladder
  • aiding digestion
  • preventing constipation
  • normalizing blood pressure
  • stabilizing the heartbeat
  • cushioning joints
  • protecting organs and tissues
  • regulating body temperature
  • maintaining electrolyte (sodium) balance.

Ultimately, water helps our body function properly.

How do I know how much water to drink?

The amount of water you drink is based on your body weight, yes it a whole equation. I’m sure you have heard people say drink 8 glasses a day (that’s old news, now we know better). Instead of 8 glasses, let us look at body weight.

Time for the math: Multiply by 2/3: You want to multiply your weight by 2/3 (or 67%) to determine how much water to drink daily. For example, if you weighed 155 pounds you would multiply that by 2/3 and learn you should be drinking about 104 ounces of water every day.

I have a really great water bottle that helped me with the water journey because I had a hard time remembering to drink more water through the day. Here is the water bottle I highly recommend: https://cleanskinclub.com/products/water-bottle-infuser
